"It's still a little scary to think back to that cold winter night long ago when Mickey, Molly and I ended up on Ms. Charlene's front porch. We lived with our dog mother on an old pig farm down the road. The night we were born Mother said she remembered hearing the pig farmer telling his wife that they couldn't afford to feed anymore dogs and that he was going to take us to the dump and leave us there to make it on our own somehow. Well from that moment on Mother started looking for a place to take us, a place where we would be cared for; a place far away from that old pig farmer.
