Just Thinking Out Loud

A compilation of articles that have appeared in Midwest newspapers through the years. It takes a look at Christians foibles, follies and flaws and gently encourages them to remember that they are ambasadors of the kingdom of God.

This book deals with sorrow, loneliness, depression, hope, dreams, knowing God's will, as well as Bibilcal topics like the Holy Spirit, nature of God and much more.

A few chapters are: A Tribute to Hypocrites, Are You Lonesome Tonight?, In the Dark of the Midnight, Lessons from the Miracle Kitten, You can Make the Bible Say Anything You Want it to, and Whatever Happened to Holiness.

This book inspires, admonishes, encourages and edifies

Excerpt

Leave A Well In The Valley

Preachers delight in waxing positive and hopeful at the first of the year. We admonish people not to look back, but rather look forward to the brand new year of hope and faith. We speak of setting goeals and doing great things. Generally, in spite of ourselves, we dole out some pretty good advice. But to many people our well-intentioned counsel and motivation is of little help.

Reality reveals that many can't flippantly forget last year. For them it was a dark and lonely valley through which they have walked with tear-filled eyes and broken heart. The New year looks no brighter as they observe the rocky road ahead of them. None of us knows when the path ahead may suddenly change for us. We all will someday face our valley and as the old song says "nobody can walk it for you."
