Your Life Teaches You to Live
offers the answer. But beware! This is not a quick fix option, but instead, a fundamental and deep commitment to discovering who you really are. Doretta Lee reveals a clear, motivating message on how you can gain control over your life and at the same time, gain respect of others. She also includes invaluable worksheets to help you reach your goals. Lee uses the five fingers of our hand to demonstrate her theory:
• The Thumb accentuates progressive thinking.
• The Index Finger emphasizes accepting who you are.
• The Middle Finger demonstrates enforcing your posture.
• The Ring Finger confirms your right to independence.
• The Pinky Finger empowers you to honor yourself and others.
By combining all the fingers together, you create a Fist of Power with Peace. This in turn leads to a new outlook on not only who you are as a person, but how you relate to the world and everything in it. With this incredible motivational guide, you can fulfill who you were meant to be and live the life you were meant to live!
Excerpt
We try to do things within our power to improve our lives: moving to better neighborhoods, higher levels of education, changing our eating habits, meditation, group therapy, rigorous exercise and the list goes on. Many of the changes made our lives more omplex though we were led to believe these changes would bring greater joy to our lives. The amount of effort and thought it took to apply those practices, made it impossible to keep up the application for long. There are so many diet fads, relationship guru’s and exercise programs but we need answers for the long haul not quick fixes.
In our quest to have a certain quality of life, we lose the very essence of who we are. “When who we are is overridden by what we want then
what we want becomes who we are.” Instead of being loving we are famous; instead of being giving we are rich; instead of being nurturing we are idolized. I believe it is possible to be famous, rich and admired without losing the essence of being loving, giving and nurturing. When we keep our essence in place as we gain a better quality of life, we leave an ntangible inheritance to those we are close to. They will have an imprint in their hearts more valuable than any book of knowledge available.
