~~ IS THIS THE DREAM ~ ~ Is this the dream that you once dreamed ~ When you were growing up ~ A waitress in a small cafe ~ Filling a coffee cup ~ Is this that dreamy job for you ~ When you were just a boy ~ You're trucking down that endless road ~ But it is not your toy ~ Is this what life is all about ~ Was this part of your scheme ~ You can't say no to overtime ~ Was this part of your dream ~ And was this all part of your plan ~ To watch your hair turn gray ~ And when your body's not in pain ~ Then you had one fine day ~ And did you choose this final plot ~ To greet the rising sun ~ Or do you see it going down ~ To take the lower run
