INVISIBLE CHAINS
I am bound by invisible chains,
Chains that will not break;
I am not afraid of death,
It is life I cannot take.
You may sometimes hear me say,
In a calm and sacred voice;
To choose life over death
Is to a fool make a foolish choice.
I am too scared to live,
And too unfortunate to die;
Too scared to take chances,
And too eager to cry.
I look for a way out,
So I have no need to pretend;
I scream to inform the world
That I look forward to the end.
I look forward to the day
When I take my final breath;
And only then will I know
If the only peace, in life, is death.
