Lulu Lulu www.lulu.com
This is the urban outlook on poetry telling stories from politics to poverty, from relationships to our environment. Real poems for real people. Some of these words are beautiful and some are harsh but they are all the realities of the world we live in, the things that we see and go through. Whether falling in love for the very first time or sitting in the welfare office, nobody does it like a sista.
Excerpt
One more day she opens her eyes
And declares that there will be no more tears to cry
She laid her body to rest
And prayed that the pain would be taken off her chest
She left the past laying on her pillow
When she rose she was reborn fresh
Like a newborn baby emerging from a mother’s womb
Opening its eyes for the first time
And taking its first breath
One more day she will rise
And be thankful for another chance to open her eyes
Another day she has survived
