Eva, a young college graduate, should be excited about her recent engagement, but as the wedding inches closer, the memories she has spent years trying to suppress begin to creep to the surface. After much convincing, Eva seeks help to deal with her haunting past. With the help of Dr. Smith and a simple notebook, Eva faces her deepest worries and re-evaluates her childhood. In her journey of healing, Eva learns that abuse does not always consist of physical violence. While words have the power to leave internal scars, they also have the power to heal.
This is a short fiction novel that deals with healing and reflection. It focuses on the negative impact that hurtful words can have on an individual as well as the use of language to heal a soul and better understand one's self. By the end of the novel, both the reader and the main character realize that life's obstacles are not always our fault and that the haunting words in the back of our minds aren't always accurate.
