“I feel blessed to have people of strength in my life. They have
given me their best. They have taught me to give life my best.”
Molly Jespersen
Molly Jespersen learned a very important lesson from her figure
skating coach, Tish Driscoll. This amazing sixteen-year-old from
Cape Cod, Massachusetts takes it to heart every day. ‘Always be
courageous in the face of fear.’
At only thirteen, Molly Jespersen begged Tish to let her attempt
performing Senior Moves in the Field and freestyle tests. Older skaters
usually take these tests, but Molly wanted to pass them as soon
as possible. She did not care that she would only be the tenth skater
in the history of the Falmouth Skating Club to achieve gold medal
status, or even the youngest skater to achieve such a goal. Molly’s
reason for her goal was much more personal. Molly’s father had
been diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.
