“Put the kids behind me and take out your bow,” Morglum growled as he whirled his two axes in a threatening gesture to the lizard men. They stood back to back in a circle with the children behind them.
“Those are our slaves,” one lizard man said as he pushed forward through the crowd. Two others followed him closely. They were obviously the leaders of the bunch. It appeared that the entire tribe had come after Taegrid minus a few slave drivers that tended to the farm slaves.
“And how would you like to be slaves of mine?” Morglum threatened. The lizard man cast the half-orc a wicked glare as it barred its teeth at him.
“We are slaves to no one, but we do serve one greater than you have ever known.” The leader of the lizard men warned. “Surrender and he will only have us make you slaves. Fight us and you will surely die at our hands or his claws.”
“And who exactly do you serve?” Sametria asked curiously, as she whirled her scimitar over her wrist.
“Why the master of these swamps, we serve Mordakai.” The leader of the lizard men answered matter-of-factly. The companions figured that they were in for it either way. The fact that they may face the one called Mordakai, the one the great and treacherous swamps were named after brought the fear factor even higher than they would have imagined.
“See what I mean? We still haven’t even reached the temple and we are going to die.” Gilthanus moaned.

Re: Book Review, Athyxian Chronicles Reign of Viscus
Athyxian Chronicles Reign of Viscus is a chilling tale of mystery, enchantment and literary imagination. The concept of a pantheon of higher beings that formed the ancient world is likened to Greek mythology, but, only darker. The author spins a tale that leaves you hanging on every word from start to finish. Filled with dark elves and mystical beings of unimaginable power, Athyxian Chronicles Reign of Viscus is a must read for those who enjoy a superb fantasy. The ending of this tale leaves open the possibility of many sequels to come to the story of the Athyxian Chronicles Reign of Viscus. If the author does pen more of this saga then I will be the first in line to read the continuation of a well written story.
