How God Uses Rejection to help You Find and Fulfill Your Destiny

Using real-life and biblical examples, this unprecedented book reveals that rejection is not only a vital ingredient to help you find your purpose, but also a catalyst to help you fulfill it. This work explores three fundamental reasons why you experience rejection, why God uses it, how He uses it, eight benefits of it, and what you need to do in order to experience these benefits. Rejected for a Purpose will help you discover that regardless of why you’ve been rejected, there is still hope for you and that God utilizes your experience to protect and redirect you to other projects and prospects, where and with whom He intended you to succeed in life.

Rejected for a Purpose will encourage you to respond properly to rejection because you’ll discover that being rejected is not the end of your life; rather, it's a means to an end for your life. And that end is your destiny. If you have been rejected from doing something, going somewhere, or being with someone, this book will inspire you by revealing that God uses the rejection to redirect you to do something else, go somewhere else, or be with someone else.

Foreword Digital Review
Rejection is universal and inevitable; sooner or later everyone, young or old, rich or poor, handsome or plain, illiterate or educated, will feel its sting. In this lively and encouraging book for Christian readers, author O.J. Toks. Toks shows how "rejection" is actually "direction" from God, who uses it to position a person correctly for his or her greater good. And, while not denying the pain that rejection can cause, Toks urges readers to give thanks when it happens, because it means that something far better is waiting for them. In effect, he encourages Christians to learn to see that those who reject them are actually doing them a service.

"I want to encourage you by letting you know that if you are facing any form of rejection, God is with you…right smack in the middle of your pain," he says, "using your opposition to position you for your destiny."

The author tells the poignant story of how he found his own purpose in life after a woman he had fancied rejected him; he had been a waiter and became a writer as a result of that rejection, and a whole new world opened to him.

Toks is a gifted teacher with a strong and compassionate voice. His message is Bible-based, enlivened with stories both ancient and modern, and sprinkled with word-play and humor; the result is a book that, if read aloud, would make an excellent series of sermons on the topic.

The book is also timely, as difficulties due to the loss of employment, foreclosure, or marital strife due to financial pressure has led to many people feeling devalued. Whether one is experiencing rejection as a result of the aforementioned, or from significant others, family members, friends, social groups, or one's own church community, one feels the need to believe that there is some meaning behind the pain. For Christians, there is no greater comfort than to know that the loving hand of God will more than make up for any loss and rejection they have suffered by using it to clear their path to His highest and best plan for them.

O.J. Toks was born in Los Angeles and was ordained as a minister at Faith Alive Ministries in Richmond, Virginia. He is the author of While You Are Single, and a speaker whose mission is to inform and inspire individuals to find and fulfill God's purpose in every aspect of their lives. He currently teaches Bible classes and serves in young adult ministry at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.

Rawsistaz Review
Everybody has known some form of rejection, be it spiritual, personal or professional. Let's face it; you live long enough and it's bound to happen to you. Sometimes it happens so much, you begin to feel abandoned by God and each time feels like a knife cut full of searing pain. Do not despair, according to O. J. Toks' REJECTED FOR A PURPOSE, there is a divine purpose behind rejection and there are definite spiritual benefits. He proposes that rejection serves to inspire, liberate, prepare, promote, protect, provide, redeem, and redirect.

As human beings, we get relaxed in the way our lives are going. When we feel contented, we fail to reach for greater heights. We become complacent in those things we feel are comfortable to us. Growth becomes almost non-existent. According to Toks, rejection is what God uses to get us to our next level. In order for growth to occur, we have to be pushed beyond what is cozy for us. An example he uses is the birth of a child. A baby knows he's safe and warm inside the mother's womb. However, we know in order for the baby to reach its full potential, it must leave the womb. Therefore, at the appropriate time it has to be expelled (rejected) from the mother's womb. Looking at this spiritually and applying to our lives, God has to push (reject) us into our potential. Although God has endowed all of us with greatness, we have to be rejected in order to be motivated and moved into the direction of our calling.

REJECTED FOR A PURPOSE is a very timely, enjoyable, and uplifting read. It is so what the doctor ordered. Toks uses a combination of real-life and biblical examples to show how God uses rejection for His purpose. He gives a good dose of scriptures and explanations that inspire and motivate. This book is really a testament to how God is moving in our lives delicately weaving His will, while we may walk around unknowingly. Rather than holding on to the negative aspects of rejection, Toks' writing will stimulate you into looking for the divine purpose of rejection. This is a very worthy read.
