Excerpt

Excerpts from the book............

Realistic Organization

Nothing will ever be 100% organized 100% of the time. Do not stress over having everything perfect. Organization isnít about perfection; itís about efficiency, reducing stress and clutter, saving time and money, and improving your quality of life.

Sometimes Less Really Is More

The less you keep, the easier it will be to find the more important items. So get rid of as many items as you can that you no longer want or need. Donate, sell, or toss, itís up to you. Once you have cleaned out the items you no longer want or need, you will notice a wonderful feeling of relaxation and liberation!

A Place for Everything and Everything in Its Place

How many times have you heard this expression? It really is very good advice. Each week, take the time to look around your home at the items that are still sitting out; odds are that a lot of these items do not have a designated place in your home. Once you have designated a place for each item, you will suddenly find it easier to keep your items put away and your home will become clutter-free in no time. So make a file for those unfiled papers, choose a container to store those loose items, and get rid of the items you do not need or want. And always remember to have: A place for everything and everything in its place.

Donít Try to Do it All at Once

Donít let yourself become overwhelmed with all the things that need to be organized. Make a list, prioritize, and then work on one thing at a time.
Trying to get everything organized all in one day can be extremely frustrating and often disappointing when it canít be accomplished. Instead, work on one project at a time and if you accomplish all of your goalsógreat! If not, simply continue moving on to the next project the following day.

Sometimes starting out with the smaller projects first will give you enough confidence and motivation to continue to the larger ones. Remember to pace yourself; do one at a time and you will be surprised at how fast they all get done and how much you will accomplish.

Different Ways to Organize

When organizing your home and family, keep in mind what works for one family may not work as well for another family. Every home, person, and family is different, and finding the best way to organize each one can sometimes be a challenge. The trick is to find what works best for you and your family and stick with it.

Professional Reviews

Love this book!
This book is great! Most organization how-to's give you a rough generalization of methods to simplify things but don't help with figuring out all the little things that add up to most of your day. This book gives you specific and detailed ways to streamline your everyday life and improve the way you and your household function on a day-to-day basis. It covers everything from controlling clutter to managing your bills to how to remember all those things you always forget, and even how to get your kids to help with the laundry - oh yes, it can be done!

This book is easy to read and is a must-have for moms everywhere!

A Reference You Will Refer To Again And Again
This easy and fun read has an incredible amount of information packed into 203 pages. It is filled with great tips and advice on organizing the entire family. Whether you have toddlers or children in college this book helps create a sense of family, responsibility and unity within the home. Christina's common sense approach is written with a caring and compassionate tone. Even if you consider yourself an organized person there are ingenious tips in this book that can only be written by someone who has a long history of helping people organize their lives. The Help Wanted Board and Chore Sheet are two ideas of many mentioned in the book that I have implemented with great success. The Organizing Challenges keep you motivated and allow you to celebrate little successes as you work your way to complete organization. A must have in our fast paced world. Highly recommended.

Organization Life Saver
The cover says very little about how this book tells you so many different ways and things to do to finally throw out the chaos of all the things in your life from clothing, kitchen and files. Everything you can possibly think of is covered in this book on how to get all of your life and home organized and off your nerves.
A few of the great ideas that I've seen inside of the book are located in Chapter 4 section 1. Help Wanted. The idea of posting a Help Wanted on the fridge. She's right, sounds silly, but think on it for a moment. Would you want to post a sign and offer to let your children earn either money or an extra privileges, or have to do it all yourself and never get the house organized to where you have any time to slow down and not be able to unwind and rid yourself of some stress?
Mrs. Scalise mentions that this is also a good thing for you and them. They learn responsibility by doing this (those are my words). (Her words, but not exact words.) They earn a little extra money for something that they want, a new privilege or even a new movie or CD, game or something. Either way, they can earn their way to one of those items by helping with the Help Wanted. On the Help Wanted sign that you post in the kitchen, be sure to put down things you need done.
