Literary Fiction

The relationship of two teenage brothers is estranged by the desires of a miscreant priest.

This story portrays the extraordinary circumstances that test the faith and courage of two teenage brothers. TOPPER is the enigmatic rebel whose problems are further exacerbated by a sexually promiscuous priest. JESSE is the shy honour student in a battle for his life. It is a story about the spiritual and familial ties that bind these siblings together.

The Collins family relocates to the shores of Lake Erie near the resort town of Riverview. Each year, thousands of young adults make an American Graffiti-style pilgrimage to the pristine beaches and Muskrat Mike’s famous drive-thru. Riverview is transformed into a virtual petri dish of vibrant teenage culture.

Ten years later, the brothers become involved in the murder investigation of several priests. The FBI links concurrent criminal activity to a Catholic priory and raids their New York City office uncovering evidence of a secret order of militant priests.

Excerpt

My empty stare fell upon the Celtic time cross tattooed on the skin between my left thumb and forefinger. At that moment, I realized it would take more than a ten-year prison term to erase my sins.
