Excerpt
Out of nowhere, a blaring horn sounded. Chad blinked. The traffic, the smells, and the hustle-bustle of the city life were all in his senses again. He rested his back more comfortably against the wide window of the building. Right now, Frank would be inside talking to Monica, perhaps even touching her. Chad curved the fingers of his right hand into a fist. He could hardly count the number of times he’d had to fight the urge to touch her soft hair or hold her. He remembered when he’d caught the couple dancing in the living room last week. Their bodies were pressed close. His muscles had tightened instantly and the spasmodic clenching of his jaw had left it sore all the next day. He sighed again. Why did he have to feel something for his best friend’s girl? And why did it kill him every time he saw them together?
