Old Acquaintances

Rissa is ready to get on with her life after burying herself in work to avoid the pain of losing her mom, but someone else has different ideas...

Strange things start happening to Rissa's Old Acquaintances, she starts getting threatening phone calls, someone seems to be following her...she tries to convince herself that it's her imagination or a coincidence...but she can't fool herself for long. She turns to her best friend for help, but what happens when he jumps to the top of the suspect list?

Det. Stone, a detective that lives up to his name, is put on the case, but can he figure it out before someone decides to end the 'game' for good...and Rissa wouldn't be the winner!

Excerpt

Rissa looked up at him and then over to Detective Stone. Det. Stone hadn't said anything since the introductions were made, but the way he watched her was unnerving. He had a stillness about him that made you realize he was taking in every word, every detail. Even as he stayed on the edges of the converstation, you felt as if he were the one in control of the meeting. And though the man had hardly said a word, he was the dominant presence in the room.

Ursula Gorman certainly brings her characters to life in Old Acquaintances! She weaves a perfect blend of mystery, suspense, and romance. The readers will be captivated by the "good guys" while trying to figure out who is creating all the deadly terror! Old Acquaintances is definitely a page-turner that will keep you guessing until the end. A great read!
