A letter from Daddy
Have you received the letter, sweetheart?
I posted the other day.
Don’t cry when you read,
That Daddy’s gone away.
Dad is amidst the roar of battle;
He fights the mother war.
Daddy fights for our freedom,
Along the foreign shores,
Take good care of your mother;
Promise you won’t cry.
Hold on to our memories,
And maybe they won’t die.
If ever you need your daddy,
Just look up at the flag, that fly’s.
Because if you can see it,
Daddy’s still by your side.
