Passages/Introduction to the Search

Described as "Independance Day" meets "The Celestine Prophecies," Passages is a quick, fun read that spans the centuries. Unknown to her, Dana Wright's spiritual development and the fate of the entire world are inextricably linked. Only through her growth, and with the help of a pod of dolphins and a group of fellow "travelers," can an unknown enemy be stopped from destoying humankind.

We are all searching for something. For many it is peace of mind or happiness, for some it is "enlightenment" or a way to connect with, to become One with, the Universe, or God. For others it is some vague concept known as the truth. Some seek money and the material comforts it brings. Some seek love. Whatever one is seeking there are tools that make that search easier and more productive.

This novel, Passages, is an outcropping of a class I taught (or more often organized) with the New Community School in the mid-to-late seventies, called "An Introduction to The Search."

In that class we explored some of the tools and belief systems one could use to help them in their search for whatever they were looking for.

Our focus was on the esoteric Seeker, the one seeking spiritual wholeness, but our areas of exploration were broad.

Experts and practitioners of such disciplines as yoga (both Hatha and Kundelini), Transcendental Meditation, Tarot, I Ching, Multi-Level Awareness, Wicca, as well as the various traditional Eastern and Western religions were all invited to come and share their insights, beliefs, experiences and techniques with us. We had classes on everything from the Kabala to UFO's, from Meher Baba to Jesus Christ.

For two years, our weekly meetings brought together a varied and ever-changing group of people to explore their spiritual selves and the world(s) which they inhabited.

The novel, Passages, recently released by Publish America and classified as transitional science fiction, has been described as: Celestine Prophecies meets Independence Day. The book includes many of the topics discussed in the class, including theories on reincarnation; Edgar Cayce’s readings on Atlantis; communication with dolphins; the Bermuda Triangle, time travel; telepathy and other elements that are commonly discussed within the realm of, so-called, “New Age” philosophies.
"We had an understanding of some of the basic Cosmic laws in the early times, that eludes us even to this day. I have come to understand that it is only in the last few years, that people are beginning to tap once more into abilities and forces that, in the beginning, came naturally to those of us who did not shut ourselves off from them out of fear and superstition."

Review of Passages, by Anne K. Edwards

A song says, "I can dream, can't I?" And Dana Wright does. Or does she? At first, the dream was an unimportant, but annoying problem, in her very organized world. She attempted to sideline it with explanations of stress, but when she started having the same dream while riding in an elevator fully awake, she knew something strange was happening to her.

People who seemed familiar, but she didn't recognize, began talking to her of the future and the past. Then she was faced with a terrifying choice and realized these weren't dreams, but visits with people who had a frightening responsibility and wanted her help. And once she made one choice, she was soon faced with another, even more terrifying.

Mr. Charles Blazek is a very talented author who tells a fascinating story that will keep you turning pages. Passages is a combination of sci-fi, paranormal, and romance with some thriller thrown in for good measure. If you enjoy stories about the unexpected, you will find this book a very satisfying read.

I recommend this book very highly to any reader who likes a well-written, interesting story that will hold your attention to the end. And don't open it with preconceived ideas of what happens. You'd be wrong and in for some surprises. I look forward to Mr. Blazek's next book.

It is interesting to, in these troubled times, consider other speres of existence, and methods of getting there.
