"Doesn't concern me?" Rider said softly, and lowered his head. "You're supposed to belong to me." He nuzzled her neck. "You placed yourself under my protection, sweethear. I accepted the responsibility and I take my responsibilities seriously."
"But it's just ... just an act." she stammered and inhaled a ragged breath.
He slid his arms around her. "Sweet Willow." He sighed. "Here I lie, my body touching yours. Tell me honesetly, is this an act too?" His mouth took firm, yet gentle custody of hers.
