Utilizing keen insight to correlate hand dish washing with the process of purging our souls of the dross of unconscious living and mediocrity, The Tao of Dishwashing - Tasking a Master Soul is divinely inspired for the times we face. It is clear that - in both our inner and outer worlds - we are experiencing a dismantling and reordering of the status quo. This universal wave of change is challenging each of us to return to our center to revisit the premises upon which we've built our lives. The shifts instituting the change are affording us an opportunity to slow down and re-invest our minds, hearts and souls with principles that, in a sense, are age-old, yet I call them "New Paradigm Thinking." I call them new paradigm thinking because they will prove faultless and invaluable in our efforts to actualize our inherent power and responsibility for shifting the collective consciousness paradigm.

The Tao of Dishwashing

When it comes to listing tasks we consider menial and preferably left to others or to automation, dishwashing ranks at or near the top. Quite often, we consider ourselves too busy to invest the energy to ensure that our service-ware is impeccable. At other times, we simply consider ourselves "above" this and similar levels of endeavor. Even during those times when we submit and commit our hands to the water, rather than honoring the task with our full, upfront, all out attention, we've become content to whisk through the process prior to reuse. Absent awareness of how each thing we do lends to building our souls, it has become customary to defer to other persons or devices, and to accept whatever results come about.

A similar way of being is reflected in the way we approach our spirituality. When I speak of spirituality, I am speaking of each of our need to connect with our soul's highest intent for our lives. While often voiced as a search for our "life purpose," our level of spirituality, or that which leads to the unfolding of our purpose, is evidenced in our demonstration of the willingness to do all things as though we are doing them for God.

While considering your Soul the ultimate dish or vessel from which you offer your gift of service to humanity, The Tao of Dishwashing equates each step of the hand dishwashing process with a principle that is certain to aid your pursuit of life-purpose and authentic self-expression. Each chapter includes a summary, affirmation and A Task (to be completed in the workbook) as an aid to unfold the energy of life-fulfillment that is invested in each of us.

Recovering Your Genius

It is said that the average individual utilizes between twenty-five percent (25%) and thirty-five percent (35%) of his or her potential brain power. As individual energy fields with distinct and uniquely developed qualities or qualifications, we are being urged to purge ourselves of all dis-empowering energy (the illusion of separateness). This is the key to opening those regions of the brain that are receptive to the higher vibrations of Mastery and Genius. Upon doing so, we will align with a universal energy flow that supports the use of these unique qualities to bring forth a new social/spiritual consciousness. This Genius is the key to mastering the seeming paradox of being “separate but without separation.” The ability to comprehend the true implications and parameters of this “divine autonomy” is vital to your quest to establish your righteously sovereign kingdom of individual God expression. I intentionally use the word “Genius” rather than talent to emphasize that I am speaking to more than aptitude and/or skill. While we all have wonderful gifts and talents, without the guidance of intuitive wisdom, the satisfaction we derive from exercising them as well as their impact and import for the world at-large is most often nominal. As we release limited ideas about ourselves, our worthiness, our potential, and the potential of others and begin to avail ourselves to the intuitive guidance of the “inner path,” we will begin to open heretofore blocked regions of our brains, and bring forth the ideas and inventions that are key to our quest to redefine the nature of human interaction on the planet. Operating at this level of consciousness will render the current ideas of “minority” and “affirmative action” completely obsolete. Having arrived at the point of actively affirming who we are, the unleashing of this inner Genius will propel us to unparalleled heights of heartfelt creative expression and Life-Mastery.
While to some the word genius implies nothing more than extraordinary intellectual power as measured by one’s performance on some standardized intelligence test, a high I.Q., presumed brilliance, or a special proclivity in a particular area of endeavor does not imply a connection with this inner Genius. As offspring of the Creator of the Universe, genius resides within each of us as a dynamic, revolutionary, spiritually inherent, and central part of our makeup. Therefore, its meaning goes far beyond intellectual prowess, high proficiency, or skill. Residing at the “seat of your soul,” it is your guide to wholeness, as it radiates a sense of Mastery, balance, and true empowerment in all aspects of life. This Genius holds the key to your individual contribution to the building of the collective Kingdom of heaven on earth. It is also your pathway to joy, self-fulfillment, and peace, and the key to mastering every malady that will ever confront your life. This Genius has as its primary aim, the rediscovery and unfoldment of the authentically empowered “transcendental you.” Your task, birthright, and destiny are to align with this Master Dishwasher, and allow it to guide you along the path to the unfolding of your greatest vision for yourself, your loved ones, and your world.
Sir Francis Galton , a 19th-century British scientist, used the word genius to designate creative ability of an exceptionally high order, demonstrated by actual achievement. It involves originality, creativeness, and the ability to think and work in areas not previously explored and, thus, to give the world something of value it would not otherwise possess. He formulated the theory that Genius is a very extreme degree of three combined traits: intellect, zeal, and the power of working. This definition of Genius aids in setting the stage for the process that is “The Tao of Dishwashing – Tasking a Master Soul.”
As you engage your pursuit of “life outside the box of societal indoctrination,” take note that the move from mediocrity to true Mastery requires that you follow the guidance of your inner Genius as it flows through your willing mind. To enlist its aid, you must demonstrate your desire to be free, by heeding the inner calls to “wake up,” “show up,” and “own-up.” Once you are awakened, conscious, and truly present, you will be compelled to examine who you are (how you see yourself in the world), that you might make the leap from altered-ego identity to becoming grounded in your true nature. The discovery and acceptance of your “true self is the first step in learning to listen to and follow the desires of your heart. It is at the root of these desires that the foundation of your unique kingdom will be discovered. Upon its discovery, you will be required to assess your commitment to being in integrity with your “true self,” by searching your heart for the motivation beneath your desires, as well as the actions you are willing to take in pursuit of their fulfillment.
Finally, you will be guided to the path that will provide direct passage to a new level of self-awareness and the unfolding of your dynamic destiny. This is the path of passion. Placement of your feet upon this path requires that you make a commitment to bringing zeal and passion to bear in all of your creative pursuits. By doing so, you liberate yourself from the bondage of mediocrity and fear (the perennial campgrounds of collective consciousness), thereby freeing your soul to ascend to true Mastery in all aspects of your life. The ultimate payoff is the discovery and alignment with the highest nature of your dynamic destiny and a conscious role in shaping the new world. Your commitment to apply passion to each of your creative expressions will, at the very least, lead to a rewarding and fulfilling life.
The path to preparing your soul for the new millennium is a personal journey. Whether you ultimately engage the “Master Dishwasher” (spiritual guidance) and enlist its aid depends upon your willingness to conquer your fears; for you can be certain that you will meet them along the path. You will also undoubtedly incur criticism from those whose fears have made them comfortable with the status-quo or too afraid to challenge it. You must, therefore, be willing to walk alone. At critical points you will do just that. Yet, you will have to be determined to embrace and, thereby, master whatever you encounter. It is important to reiterate that your personal effort lends a great amount to the overall team objective. Only you, through the releasing of your fears and prior conditioning, can schedule the place and time for beginning your march toward freedom. In the way of encouragement, I say to you that the place is right where you are, and the time is now! You can make the connection. So, take this opportunity. Release any attachment to outmoded, disempowering social/spiritual paradigms, and see yourself and others in the light of a newly dawning age.
Here we are in our final at-bat of the twentieth century. This is your long-awaited chance to capture the energy of a deeply defining moment, and emerge victorious, as the power hitter you were born to be. It’s the bottom of the ninth. We are the home team, and this is our biggest game, to date. Facing a team called “Altered-Ego,” from a place called “False-Self,” we are down by three runs. You are at the plate with the bases loaded, two outs and a 3-2 count. Adjusting and altering how you view the “curves,” “bad breaks,” “sinkers” and “slides” of life (what you have come to accept as “truth and value,” “right and wrong,” “good and bad” in yourself and others) has afforded you an opportunity to connect with what is really going on, and to take a responsible role in healing your life and creating the world you desire to see. While comfortably establishing a rhythm for your bat, you have assumed your stance and dug-in. The pitcher is winding up. He stares in at you with that intimidating gaze. The ball is on its way to the plate. Here’s the pitch! Swing Batter!!
