A reader for children 6 to 12. Fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters explore together to help solve each others problems. The wolf and Granny become friends, and Little Boy Blue helps Bo Peep find her lost sheep. Plus other exciting adventures.

Designed for readers beyond picture books, but not so advanced that fun and imagination are removed, Forest Trails and Fairy Tales is the author’s second book that fills that important niche. Reference pictures are included, but not enough to restrict a child’s reading practice and development at that next important level.

Reading fun begins when Jack and Jill meet familiar nursery rhyme characters as they explore along a forest trail. They meet Humpty Dumpty, who often falls because he has a self-image problem. They also accompany Red Riding Hood as she visits her grandmother and finds that Granny is friends with B.B. Wolf. They also try to solve the problem with Bo Peep’s lost sheep, especially while B.B. Wolf visits Granny. They are also puzzled by a rabbit that’s determined to make an uncooperative tar baby talk and be his friend.

Other characters they meet include the three bears, Beanstalk Jack, and Jack B. Nimble. Their biggest question is why Granny formed a baseball team on her corn farm.
