Corpse Dust

Danike Ryan's new life doesn't exactly have the normality she was expecting. In fact, there's nothing normal at all about the heart-thumping turn of events when she meets Kallon Davies, her psychology class partner at college. No one knows anything about him and he appears to have no friends.

An unusual encounter with Kallon in the woods makes her suspect that beneath those deadly good looks, lies something dark and sinister. She has to find out. She just can't stop herself from poking around in matters that don't concern her. What she finds out terrifies her. But it's too late - she's in too deep. Way too deep.

Excerpt

Halfway through the lesson, she could not help being distracted by the large tutor in front, crooning away in what was essentially a red wine and chocolates kind of language. She couldn’t imagine him to be that sort though. Six foot eight or nine, she figured him for. He looked like a prop in a rugby team from back home. His bulging thighs almost split the faded jeans he wore. Close-cropped dark hair accentuated his thick neck, veins popping out the sides. His voice droned on as he pointed to words on the board and held a French-titled book that looked obscenely delicate in his hands. She could see him tearing the book in half with one rip, perhaps stuffing the one half in his mouth, chewing loudly and then spitting out shreds of paper afterwards. He was a beast.

This review is from: Corpse Dust: If he walks without a shadow, he is mine. (Kindle Edition)
This novel had me glued to the couch for many hours of nail-biting escapism. I never even knew I would enjoy a paranormal fantasy & suspense, as I normally stick to thrillers and whodunit books, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
In fact after reading it finished I went and researched the paranormal subject and am eagerly hoping for a sequel:)
Worth every penny and way underpriced.
Highly recommended.

Thrilling Book!
From the start I was hooked. The strong characterisation of Danni, Lea, even Danni's mum meant that I was able to feel what they felt, and nauseous in the gory scenes (be warned - they happen unexpectedly! Wonderfully written with an unexpected ending. I loved the semi sci-fi, tribal and modern themes that occur throughout the book. I normally read the last page before I get to page 2, to gauge if I will like a book - I didn't for 'Corpse Dust' as it gripped me from the start. An excellent book for older teenagers upwards. I've recommended it to my school librarian friend too!
