Like life, the search for answers can be a journey that is as exasperating as it can be rewarding. Though, like an Egyptian archaeologist that would love to find an undiscovered tomb, for Richard Osiris Hades the truth is a thirst that only a man lost at sea could understand. Will he find what he is looking for, or will whatever is taking solace behind red doors deny his true destiny?

Ignorance is bliss ... right? Find out:

Imagine for a fleeting moment that you stumble upon a book – its cover dusty. You blow the dust away; the red colour of the bind appearing faded and worn. You run your free hand over and down the cover; the sensation of a braille-like texture tickling the tips of your fingers – it feels old. You flip the book now only to find the back like the front – void of information. Your interest is peaked, so you carefully open the book; the cover crackling like it doesn’t want the contents within to be released. You gaze down now upon the first page with curious eyes and are met with graceful handwriting, indicating that whoever wrote it had an educated hand. You begin to read the elegantly formed words and though you’re no closer to discovering the origin of the book – nor the author, it soon becomes clear that the book is not a book; it’s a journal … a journal that harbours a message and warning suggesting you read no further...

Let me ask you a question, have you ever been curious?

I mean insatiably curious, the type of curious that you can taste, the sort that leaves you so frustrated that you cannot sleep at night… with a single, overpowering sensation keeping slumber at bay… the sensation that you needed to know… that you had to know!

Good … then we are alike, you and I.

I won’t tell you that my tale is truth … I won’t tell you that it is fact! What I will say is simple… what I will say is this. I will never lie to you… I will never deceive or trick you… I have no motives, no goals… just a wish, a simple wish. Learn from my mistakes... learn from my past, don’t ask questions and don’t open doors you cannot close.

But… if you are truly like me then this warning will go unheeded ... and I smile because I know that one day the world will know the truth, and my life – or death, will not have been in vain.

I’ll leave you with this one parting gift. If you find yourself alone on a warm summers eve… when suddenly, a cold breeze catches the back of your neck making your hairs stand on end… know this… it is cold when they are close!

Did you know, that at any one time there are exactly one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine genuine red doors scattered throughout every major continent around the world? You have probably walked past at least one of these doors without even giving it a second thought. You probably did not even notice … I mean, why would you? At first they seem like every other door: plain, ordinary, not dissimilar from the next.

Stop … take a moment to decide if you wish to read further. For you do not have to embark on this journey of discovery and understanding, in fact, you may close this journal right now and live your life just the same as you did yesterday, and it will be a good life … a peaceful life. However, if you do decide to read beyond this page, I promise that the truths you will read while embarking on this journey will forever change your opinion on life as you know it, but alas … there will be no going back!
