This is the second book in the Three and Out trilogy involving Rod Richards who relocates every three years to find a more challenging and exciting life.
He moves ffrom managing an apartment in downtown San Francisco to San Antonio Texas where major changes in his life occur. He ends up running a psych hospital two blocks from the world famous River Walk.
He engages in several interesting love interests while trying to get the hospital ready for its upcoming accreditation in the midst of a murder investigation. Four patients and two staff nurses have been pegged "persons of interest" by the investigating authorities.
An unbelievable three year period comes to its end and Rod is ready to move on to his next exciting adventure in Chicago.

From Chapter 13. "Eduardo is being treated for delusions of grandeur," answered Boyd. "Sometimes he thinks he's Napoleon and dresses up in royalty attire. He can't carry a sword, though he has asked us to provide him one. Once in a while he thinks he's Adolph Hitler and even submitted a letter to the administrator asking for a list of the Jewish patients that are hospitalized here. Eduardo is harmless and all of the patients enjoy his antics and outlandish sense of humor."

Great book by John Payne! Very in-depth character study, interesting plots, and Payne displays a tremendous knowledge of the current state of healthcare in the U.S.
You will get a tour of all the finer points of the beautiful city of San Antonio,Texas, while trying to guess who the murderer is.
We see a fuller development of the main character, Rod Richards in this book, and I look forward to book 3 in the trilogy to see what happens to Rod in his pursuit to find "eternal happiness"!!!
This book will not disappoint!!!

I just finished this novel by Payne. A must read if you live in San Antonio or work in a hospital setting. Interesting plot with alot of "who dunnit's" to sort thru. Fast moving with alot of interesting characters. I enjoyed the book; and look forward to his next novel.
