While his friend struggles with illegal ambitions, the author worries if fun-loving Jimmy Bray can resist pressure from his girlfriend to become a hardened criminal. Meanwhile, the author is also concerned about the suffering of his cousin Bobbie, who is thwarted in her efforts to locate the child she had with Hank Williams. In a twist reminiscent of a Dickens tale, a schemer managed to cast Bobbie's two-year-old daughter into the world of anonymity to prevent her from inheriting a fortune. My Friend the Felon is based on true simultaneous stories.

While his friend struggles with higher ambitions in the world of crime the author worries about a young woman, his cousin, who searches frantically to learn the whereabouts of her two-year-old daughter.

In this two-pronged story based on actual events, Jimmy Bray's colorful and fun-loving personality is endangered by prompting from his girlfriend to be more than a mere car thief.

Jimmy pays no attention to a truism in the world of crime, i.e. more can be stolen by the pen than by a gun.

Meanwhile a child, the daughter of singer Hank Williams and a beautiful young woman named Bobbie Jett, was surreptitiously put up for adoption as a ward of the State of Alabama. The agency was warned against ever revealing the child's true identity as the heir to a fortune. The motive of the woman behind the scheme was greed and a reluctance to part with millions of dollars in royalties.

The police radio crackled...Emergency! Hostages! Two Down!

Professional Reviews

My Friend the Felon
Five out of Five Stars
Reviewer: Joseph Hammerstein, NYC
My Friend The Felon,by Mick Jett, is a short and intriguing read about two incidents which occurred simultaneously in the author's life when he was a cub reporter. The felon, James Bray, a luckless individual with little success in the car-stealing business, tries his hand at bank robbing at the behest of his girlfriend who is not content with the
small amount of money Bray gets from his car thieving career.
Meanwhile, the author's cousin, Bobbie Jett of Nashville, Tennessee, is searching
frantically for her daughter - the child she had with legendary singer Hank Williams. A dark conspiracy orchestrated by the singer's sister plunges the baby into a lost world of anonymity.
The stories are true. The read is brilliant and you will be spellbound from page one.
$2.99 Kindle, $5.50 paperback. Available in the UK and throughout Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Whatever your amazon location, it'll be there.

My Friend the Felon
A gripping two-pronged story of terror in the night and a mother's search for her baby who was lost in a world of anonymity.
This page-turning book takes the reader through the experiences in a vivid style that makes the reader feel the tension and the actual presence of the participants. I rate it five out of five stars.
