Once upon a time, in a beautiful forest there was a delicate butterfly. He was making his regular rounds in a ballet of swirls and twirls when he noticed a little deer keeping a close watch on her.
After the little flying dance, the deer applauded the butterfly with his thoughts and smiled sending a gratitude air current to her for doing such a graceful show. The butterfly and the deer named Patch became instant friends and spent many days in the forest enjoying each other’s company.
One day, when the butterfly did not see her friend, she went down the path a ways and saw that he had fallen and needed some help. “Don’t worry little friend, I will go quickly and find some help.
As the little butterfly named, Whisper flew along, he noticed a little girl named Anne playing in her yard. She had long hair and she could tell by reading her energy that she had a kind heart and would be able to help her deer friend.
At first Whisper tried to speak to the little girl by sending it messages of thoughts but the little girl could not hear her. Suddenly Whisper had an idea. “I will fly down and get myself tangled in Anne’s hair, that way when I move gently she will have to follow me.” The butterfly thought.
Taking a butterfly breath and stretching her wings out to maneuver closer to Anne, she took her place in her hair. Anne was quite excited to have the butterfly so close to her and giggled when she sat down on her curly hair.
Having the butterfly on her head, made little Anne started to dance around making it easy for Whisper to direct her to little Patch. “This is easier then I expected. Guess good old Mother Nature herself is helping orchestrate things as always.” The butterfly thought leading Anne on.
After a short walk they both found themselves face to face with the little deer. Anne’s heart went right out to the injured deer and she quickly looked at his wounds. “Don’t worry little one. Just sit tight and I will be right back,” Anne said, standing up and walking toward some plants on the side of a brook.
Anne gathered some special plants and ran back to Patch and the butterfly. She held the plant in the palm of her hands and rubbing it onto the deers skin gently whispered a little prayer.
When the prayer was done, Anne reached into her pocket, took out a band aid and placed it on the deer’s bruise.
Instantly the deer felt better and soon she was ready to stand up. When Whisper counted to three the deer stood up and bowed to her little friend.
Before Anne was ready to leave, Whisper guided her to sit down and she did a beautiful thank you dance in the sky. Anne loved the show so much that at one point she joined the dance on the forest floor. The show made Patch grin shaking his tail and caused him even to forget about his accident.
As Anne began to walk home, the butterfly started to whispered in her ear. It came to little Anne in a vision rather than words but, it worked just fine and showed her to look under her pillow at the first light. They parted with a dancing hug and off she went into her home.
The next morning when Anne awoke, she looked under her pillow and found a beautiful butterfly barrette. She knew that it was from Mother Nature herself, saying “thank you,” for helping her child. It made Anne very happy and she wore it with gratitude knowing she made a special friend that she would enjoy dancing with on many a day that followed.
