Mrs. Feeny finds herself at odds with the neighborhood children who walk and ride bikes across her lawn. They have created a dirt path and constantly taunt her and call her names. She chases them, yells at them, puts up a little fence, and turns on the sprinkler--much to their delight. Mrs. Feeny must find a way to stop them. She figures out a way to gain their trust and cooperation and solves the problem. Want to know how? Well, as Mrs. Feeny would say, "You'll see . . . "
"You kids get off my lawn," screamed Mrs. Feeny, running out her front door. "Walk on the sidewalk like normal human beings!"
"Meany Mrs. Feeny, Witchy Widow Feeny," the boys sang, scattering.
Around the corner, Buddy, Josh, and Brad laughed. "Whew, we made it across again!" Buddy said. "It's a great dirt shortcut, isn't it? Ha ha ha."
