After almost five years, widow and single mother, Tizzy Donovan finally met the man of her dreams in Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper. But when he fails to show up for their wedding, she's determined to find out why.

Enlisting the help of first cousin Jinx Monroe, and best friends, Rayann Tatum and Synola Harper, it's not long until they're dealing with clowns, yard gnomes, a missing stripper, and a Baptist deacon.

After a car chase and gun fight, head-strong Tizzy is more committed than ever to claim her happily-ever-after. All she needs is a seance with an old witch and a little help from Positive Jesus.

Excerpt

Twenty-four hours ago Tizzy Donovan was naked in Ridge Cooper's bed, screaming to get God's attention. She loved everything about Ridge. How his dark hair curled at the nape of his neck when he needed a haircut. Steel blue eyes set against the hard lines of his face. Broad shoulders, thick chest, the way he held the steering wheel of his truck. God, she could see him standing straight, thumbs hooked in his front jeans pockets, cowboy hat settled just right. The more vivid the image, the hotter she got.

Sequel to Laid Out and Candle Lit, carries its own kick
This humorous outing for Ann Everett relies less on regional humor but continues the belly laughs that made Laid Out and Candle Lit so charming.
When her fiance fails to show up at their wedding, Tizzy Donovan is the only one who doesn't believe he got cold feet, so it is up to her to lead the race to find and save him. Tizzy comes from a family of lawmen, and she isn't going to let anything stand in her way in her attempt to rescue Ridge Cooper.
The story introduces Tizzy's cousin Jinx, an ex-Army Ranger, and her dear friend, the indomitable Synola, who are up to whatever it takes to help Tizzy get her man.
It is not necessary to have read Laid Out and Candle Lit to enjoy this book, but there is no reason to deprive yourself of the pleasure, and the regional humor was wonderful.

Surprising
What starts out to be a typical jilted lover in a small Texas town quickly turns into an investigation of a missing groom. Foul play is suspected and the bride, Tizzy, isn't about to give up. The rawness of this book smacks of Southern Belle, Texas style and will make you laugh out loud in a lot of places. It's a book you can read in a night and won't want to put down till Tizzy gets her happily ever after.

Romantic mystery filled with humor
Tizzy Donovan, widow, single mother, baker, and part-time bartender, is getting married--if she can find the groom. Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper is a no-show on the morning of their wedding, and everyone is convinced that he simple changed his mind. Everyone, that is, except Tizzy. She is convinced that something awful has happened to him, and with the help of her cousin and her two best friends, she sets out to save the lover of her life.
The story is filled with suspense, and the many twists and turns kept me from guessing 'who and why'. I found myself unable to stop reading; I kept thinking "just one more chapter." I love Ms. Everett's vice. Through her descriptive prose, she makes you want to be part of this small town. She has filled her book with likeable characters and witty dialogue. I found myself laughing out loud many times. (FYI: There is a touch of the paranormal--Tizzy has the ability to speak to the dead, which is seamlessly blended into the story, and the relationship between Tizzy and Ridge is a bit steamy.)
You're Busting My Nuptials is the second book in the Tizzy and Ridge Trilogy (Laid Out and Candle Lit is the first). I'm looking forward to the next book in this series and hope that Ms. Everett will change her mind about this being a trilogy. I would love to spend a lot more time with Tizzy, Ridge, and the rest of the residents of Brownsboro, Texas.
