Kimberley Burke is the last person anyone would have expected to become entangled in the drug scene. However, she acknowledges, “Drugs are everywhere and they don’t discriminate. They don’t care about your family background, who you are, where you come from or how much money you have.”

White Magic ~ Black Tragic... The Diary Of A Mad Crackhead, is an uncensored, personal diary in which author Kimberley Burke totally exposes herself and her past life while addicted to crack cocaine. In The Diary, Kimberley narrates her daily struggles and describe the treacherous web of lies and deceit that entraps every drug addict, while offering personal wisdom and solutions gleaned from her own internal struggle to reclaim her soul from the forceful grip of crack cocaine.

The tone of her book is both entertaining as well as factual and humorous.

Excerpt

Entry # 1: Introduction- A living nightmare It wasn’t my choice or desire but it would become my fate and now I’m living a nightmare. Two and a half years ago my ex-boyfriend laced some weed with crack-cocaine without my knowledge.

I knew I felt weird and my heart started beating extremely fast so I asked my ex with the initials (T.Q.M) what kind of weed it was that could make me feel that way and he said that it was called a “woo” and that he had laced the joint with crack-cocaine and for me to sit back and relax. Well, needless to say I could not sit back or relax because I knew what that drug did to people…I was furious!

It cost me my marriage of fifteen years when my ex-husband became addicted to it. I saw ten years of my cousin’s life destroyed because of it and I was told by my uncle and great uncle and other family members who smoked crack to never ever touch it because “one hit was one too many and a thousand would never be enough”.
