In this story, Jo gets involved with the mob. He becomes a bootlegger. He smuggles illegal mechandise into Barefoot County. At first, the thrill and money excite him. After a while, Jo gets bored. He wants out of the mob in order to do other things. Unfortunately, once in the mob, you don't ever leave. Due to a series of unusual circumstances plus some help from his friends, Jo is able to leave the bootlegger life. Later, he gets recruited by the cops to catch an elusive criminal. After working a while with his partner, the delightful Murky, Jo finds his calling. He was born to be a cop.
