Tri-Time eBook

Tri-Time is a sci-fi adventure with elements of suspense. Atliy, short for Atlanta, is a; highly intelligent, wise, and quick-thinking eleven yr old girl. Atliy befriends Augey who is; comedic, loyal, and a bit cowardly. Towards the beginning of the book, weird weather occurrences begin to happen. Thresholds start appearing all over the earth and weird-looking shades of lighting cover the sky. Atliy and Augey set out to figure out what is happening. Soon enough they are greeted by a strange, quirky girl named Zinky, who seems to know more about the situation than she is letting on. It becomes increasingly evident that the cosmos could be in immense danger. Atliy, Augey, and Zinky are thrown into an adventure where they must save the cosmos from what Atliy determines is a Tri-Time. A Tri-Time is when three times begin elapsing over themselves. Will these brave girls save the cosmos? Or will all life get sucked up into a super black hole, dense beyond imagination?

Excerpt

“School has been canceled for the day,” an ominous voice reads. “Please head home to the safest area.”
The room goes black. People can hear electrical shortages echo all over the building. As this happens there is a “huh!” and another “huh!”
“Everyone go out the nearest exit!” Mrs. Clax orders in a loud cumbersome voice.
All the students quickly fetch their belongings that they have in the classroom. Mrs. Clax retrieves her purse off the desk and waits anxiously for all the kids to exit then locks the door behind them. The halls are filled with students, teachers, and staff all fleeing to the nearest exit. Atliy, Augey, and the rest of their English class jet manically down the nearest stairwell approximately twenty yards from their empty classroom. As they rush to the back exit that leads to the back field, Atliy, as well as many others, see flashes as all types of electrical equipment short circuit. Lamps, lights, educational televisions, computers, and several other learning tools are quickly destroyed.
Atliy and Augey finally make it out of the expensive mess left behind in the now hazardous building.
Mrs. Clax yells out, “I'm afraid you'll all have to run home now! As you can tell, all electronics are dead!”
As Atliy looks straight ahead, she notices the land changing. Suddenly, it appears as if her home is only a block or two away. And then the sight of her house vanishes. Chaos bursts forth as people scatter in all directions over the quickly changing landscape. Atliy can hear screaming and remarks of confusion in the air.
“What is going on?”
“I just want to be home.”
“Which way is home?”
“AAH!” says a kid as he almost falls over on the ever-changing expanse.
“What is this, an earthquake?”
People begin to shout “Earthquake!!!”
“Earthquake!!!”
“Earthquake!!!”
But Atliy is too wise. She knows that the changing land forms cannot possibly resemble that of an earthquake. A gray dusting wind blows by knocking people over in its path. Then others begin to yell “Tornado!!!”
“Tornado!!!”
Yet some others yell “Hurricane!!!”
“Hurricane!!!”
“Hurricane!!!”
Atliy can feel her heart pounding as she runs forth in a continuous race for home. Finally, she can see her backyard some fifty yards away. Once her house is within thirty-five yards, she arrives at a five foot tall gray rock. Atliy surmises, it looks as if a ledge of a mountainous domain is forming. After she begins to climb, struggling up the rock growing in height and width and depth, she can hear heavy breathing coming from behind her. Once she reaches the top of the rock rising out of the green earth, she catches her breath for a moment while staring up into the purple gray clouds. The sky gets more and more cloudy and begins to illuminate with some weird shades of purple, periwinkle, and charcoal gray. She hears a breathing sound coming from just behind her getting louder and louder. Frightened, Atliy looks to her right and a head pops up.
“Oh, its you!”
“Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you,” says Augey as she climbs to the top of the rock.
“Why are you following me?”
“My parents left on an emergency trip to visit my aunt in the hospital. She had a heart attack.”
“Oh, I'm sorry.”
“Can I come with you?”
“Don't you have any brothers or sisters that you should be watching?”
“No, I'm an only child.”
“Oh.”
“How 'bout you?”
“Oh, I have a younger brother, Austin. He's a pain in the rear.”
“Oh.”
What appears as lightening begins to strike the air and trees. But the trees do not catch on fire. Instead they turn a strange, gloomy shade of green. One bolt strikes right behind them.
“Ahh!” shouts Augey.
