Aspen, a twenty six year old wife and mother goes on a one hundred mile horseback trip with her husband Josh and six other people in the Tongass National Forest of Alaska.

Expecting the trip of a lifetime that is just what they got, just not the trip they had imagined. Shocking events lead to Aspen being forced to walk fifty miles back through the Alaskan wildneress to get help.

This book is a true page turner with action and adventure on every page. Reading it is like watching a movie. A gripping and fun read that satisfies all ages from twelve to one hundred. Both men and women love this story.

Excerpt

Aspen used one of the saddles as a pillow and even with all the rocks she had to lie on she was asleep as soon as she zipped up the sleeping bag. It had to be one o'clock by the time they all got to sleep.
It only stayed dark for about 4 hours or so, she couldn't have been asleep any longer than that because it was still dark when she bolted upright still enclosed in the sleeping bag. At first she thought she was dreaming because she thought she had heard a gun shot. It didn't take long for her to realize she was definitely not dreaming when she saw the flash as Gabe fired another shot.

It doesn't get dark until midnight
"It Doesn't Get Dark Until Midnight" is a story of survival in the Alaskan wilderness. It is full of action and adventure, a love story as well as a story of inner strength. This book will captivate you and keep you reading until the last page. The main character, Aspen, learns what love and the drive for survival can accomplish. Never a dull moment, this book will definitely leave you wanting more. Hold on to your seat, and your heart. If you love the story of a true champion and the outdoors this is the book for you. A must read by almost any age or gender. Great work by April O'Brien. Look for her other books "Enter" (at your own risk) as well as "April was here" Better and more captivating than any novel. If you liked "A child called it" You will love this book.
