Constable Evan Evans is asked to help a documentary crew, come to shoot the
raising of a WW11 German plane from a lake on Mt. Snowdon. He soon finds
that resurrecting the past isn't always a good idea. Old wounds are opened and he
discovers an old plot to do with paintings from the National Gallery stored in
a Welsh slate mine during the war.
Two stories intertwine in this book as an old slate miner, Trefor Thomas, recounts
his own World War Two experiences. The stories come together at the end for
a satisfying climax.

of dark and light. This is a pitch perfect book, which will charm you in one sentence,
chill you in the next!"
