Zeus growls in a very low tone as he stares at the entrance. And then he slowly walks out of the cave.
"Zeus. No. Come back," Deet says in a loud whisper.
Deet quickly grabs his sword and follows him. He exits the cave and stands beside Zeus. Deet's eyes have adjusted to the dark, and he can see a jaguar walking up the hill towards them. It had smelled the fish cooking.
It could definitely see them. Even though Zeus was much larger than the jaguar, he kept creeping towards them. He walked very slowly as if were stalking his prey.
As the jaguar grew near Zeus attacked it. He hit the jaguar head on, and they'd both rolled down the hill, clawing and growling. Deet quickly makes his way close to them with his sword raised above his head, but they are too entwined for him to hit the jaguar.
Just then they break loose from each other and the jaguar flees into the jungle, and Zeus chased after it.
"Zeus. No!" Deet yells. He stands where they had entered the jungle holding the sword. In the distance he could hear that Zeus had caught the jaguar and they were fighting once more. "Zeus no, Leave him alone and come back!" He screams. "Zeus! Zeus!"
Suddenly the sound stops and there is a deathly silence. Deet stares into the jungle for what seems like an eternity. After a while he hears rustling in the brush. He raises the sword above his head, prepared to strike if it is the jaguar. But it is Zeus that emerges. He drops the sword, runs over and wraps his arms around Zeus' neck.
"Zeus you idiot, what were you thinking? Do not ever do that again," he says in a relieved tone. And they return to the safety of the cave.
