Johnny Mack Author

Part two of my autobiography

Johnny Mack turns his back on drugs and crime when he moves to the Isle of Wight with his family. However, while his beloved wife and three children begin a new life, Johnny returns to the mean streets of Peckham in search of one last score in order to provide the funds needed to support his family. After seeking trusted friends still in the criminal scene he finds himself double crossed and barely escapes with his life, resulting in his return to the Isle of Wight to join his beloved wife and children. His plan foiled, Johnny struggles with the guilt of returning to his family with no money for them to start their new life. His cockney accent generates prejudice from the community, and he is made to feel like an outsider. While working legitimately for a firm of boat builders he realises that one of his bosses is smuggling drugs. He decides to blackmail his boss for a large sum of money. The slow pace of the island leads him to a new addiction, replacing the former addiction to drugs which he successfully beat. His new way of thinking brings a strain to his marriage. Finally, Johnny understands that he needs to call upon all his inner strength and resourcefulness to escape the demons that continue to haunt him. But how long will the unstinting love and support of his wife last?Johnny Mack turns his back on drugs and crime when he moves to the Isle of Wight with his family. Professional Reviews

Compelling read
This book never so much Landed on the moon as hit me smack full on in the face ,in his follow up to Dunpeckham Johnny Mack has excelled himself....if you thought the first book was a rollercoaster ride be prepared for another hair raising trip...
Here is one mans story of the real price of crime, not for him the glamour and the gloss just another gritty tale of despair and what happens when you choose a life of crime fueled by drink and drugs...how he hit rock bottom losing all he valued and loved until he finally said "enough is enough" i read this book in one very enjoyable sitting so go for it unhook the phone lock the door and enter Johnny's world.....

Great sequel
found that this sequel to Dunpeckham has a very compelling story-line. This Johnny Mack character battled with every demon that an addictive personality produces. His life story is written in such a way that the reader feels he is in the room telling you his story.
Even though he was a ruthless figure in the underworld scene, you can't help but have empathy for him mainly due to his total and raw honesty. His crimes were bad and unacceptable, but he wanted out of that world of crime & drugs and succeeded until he became a victim of alcoholism and turned in to a chronic alcoholic. He takes the reader in to the alcoholic mind and his daily battle to survive.
A fantastic read, it had me glued till I finished it.

Brilliant read
After reading Dunpeckham I could not wait to read this book and I was not disappointed. It's another fantastic read, I would recommend this as a must read book to anyone that enjoys crime books. Don't take it from me as a blinding book, read it yourself and you will agree with everything I have said. I genuinely did not want this book to end. Rick
