If you prefer not to rely totally on prescription drugs, making your own remedies for day-to-day health needs is a good way to help your body and mind thrive naturally. Home Remedies from Culinary Herbs tells you what each herb is used for, and how to grow them.  It's also a useful reference for survivalists.

Growing your own natural home remedies is easy, so long as you know what conditions the herbs like, so this book gives you all the information you need to grow the best quality herbs for use both in the kitchen and as herbal remedies.

Includes a full alphabetical index of remedies.

Excerpt

In this book, I'll be looking at the herbs you probably have in your kitchen – or maybe growing in a pot or in the garden. As there are quite a few of these, I'm starting here with the ones most frequently used in cooking. Not just the Salisbury Fair quorum of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, but all the ones that come to mind along with them.

These are the old familiar herbs I grew up with, which have been handed down from mother to daughter not just for the pot, but also for their healing properties. Many others were passed on in the same way, but these are the ones that have remained in common use in our cooking to this day, though most of us have completely forgotten their remedial purpose.

Now I know the difference!
This is a great little book that explains how to dry herbs, barks and flowers. Then you will learn all the ways to use them! Wow! I never knew what a tincture was and how it differed from a poultice. Makes me want to plant some cool things to start making my own remedies!
