This collection was accepted as my body of creative work for my dissertation. With these poems (many of which are individually published) I accomplished the final step in earning my Doctorate in Literature from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.

...As insipid seas flow I now stand among chiselled copper crevices/Inhaling currents that puncture/ no longer as a northern teal/nor sitting lanquid/ but pushing for flesh burnt to purity
