Books by Gini Graham Scott

It's about how we lie, how we justify doing it, how we respond when other people lie to us, how to tell when someone is lying, how we lie to ourselves, and more.

The Truth About Lying reveals what everybody does but nobody likes to talk about -- or at least they didn't used to when the book was first published. But now lying is much more common.

The book features ordinary, respectable people who describe how and why the lie -- from lying to get ahead on the job to lying for advantage in personal relationships.

The book also features a history of lying, and looks at lying in other cultures. It includes a discussion of lying as a survival mechanism that even animals use.

Reader Reviews for "The Truth About Lying"

Reviewed by Laurie Anthony 7/11/2003
Hello Gina,
Your book sounds very interesting to me because I spent several years working with (helping) a homeless man, and I had to struggle to understand why he had lied his whole life, and why he continues to lie. I came to realization that he didn't even realize he was lying, he had been doing it for so long. I will be interested in reading your book. Thanks!
