The Ghost Of Emily ~ A True Story
By Katie Fairchild
A true account of a ghost story, where the author tells the story of the ghost child, named Emily and in great detail. While this story is an eerie story at best, it also captured the heart of the author, as well as changed her opinions concerning ghosts, and haunting experiences.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Until the year of February 2001, I never really believed in ghosts. I loved to hear ghost stories, with all the eerie details, but to me they were only ghost stories to scare one by. And everybody likes to be scared a little. But my opinion of ghost and ghost stories changed drastically in the year of 2001, and here I am telling a ghost story.
It all started with a bathroom I started to paint. Without giving the story completely away, are excerpts from the story to give the reader a view.
“The paint vanished again in the still air. I was quite puzzled by this. Maybe if I tried some different paint it might work. And I did try a different type and color of paint - and right before my eyes, it vanished again! In confusion, I sat down on the edge of the tub and exclaimed “WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?” All of a sudden the name EMILY came to me. It was so strange and it is so hard to explain even to this day of how the name entered my mind. It is not as if someone whispered Emily where I could hear it, but was somehow whispered into my mind and imprinted onto my brain, as well as a vague description of Emily. Emily, a little girl between the age of 10 to 13 years old was all I got.”
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH DOORS!
Jim was having a problem with the doors. When we would go out for the day, Jim would put all of our four dogs in the hall and shut them totally in, so that they could not get to the other rooms of the house. And it never failed, each time we returned home, at least one or two doors were cracked open. Jim considered that our son Cameron might have something to do with it. Cameron, lived in Huntsville also, but he did not have a key to our house. Crystal, our 15 year old daughter, was at school, so no need to blame her.
In this book, describes Jim with his concerns with the doors. Jim says, "I want you to walk behind me and check each door as I close it, to make sure it is securely shut." I did as he asked, and then we left. We arrived back home two hours later, and beyond my belief, and his, all of the eight doors leading off the hall were WIDE open, as well as the two doors off the laundry room, where the kitchen door and the utility closet doors were!! I am sure you can imagine, our eyes were WIDE open also, in total amazement and surprise.
The above are of small parts of the story that I hope will give the reader an idea of the experiences we had in this old house, and concerning our new found ghost child which we called Emily. This preview is of just a few experiences we encountered while living in the old home, as there were just so many, which is why I wrote the story. Remember, this is just a preview. The book is available in paperback, or in download if you want to know “THE ENTIRE STORY!”
