An Unforgettable, Gritty, Passionate, Sexy, Controversial Novel of Reincarnation.
Ariadne ... From New York to Istanbul, Suspended on the Threshold of Yesterday and Tomorrow...
Enter Ariadne's Dangerous, Exotic World if You Dare, for The Scorpion Child will make you a believer, yet!
Synopsis:American stage and screen star Daniel Saxon, Ariadne (an American expatriate novelist married to a Turk) and Burhan Kayhanolu (he is an Advisor to the Turkish Military Junta ) are the protagonists, which is a fast-paced, colorful and controversial political thriller. The plot flows between New York, California and Istanbul, on a cinemascopic reel of romance, high-stakes terrorism, who done it, sex, intrigue, and subtle undercurrents of mysticism as well as reincarnation, the idea of the latter presented in a no-nonsense, thought-provoking manner.Character Profiles:Daniel Saxon - the handsome American star of TV, stage and screen, is a spirited man and an accomplished Shakespearean actor. Newly divorced from his wife of twenty five years, he is fighting to overcome alcoholism and a midlife crisis. Daniel has two children, Maria, ambitious and assertive, and Matthew, introspective and rebellious. During the course of the novel, Matthew will be assassinated by an Armenian terrorist as a revenge for Daniel’s friendship with Ariadne.Ariadne - only a few people know that her marriage to Burhan, an amalgam of passion, turbulence and disenchantment, is strained, marked by the tragic murder of their son by terrorists. She has come to New York to promote her novel based on Chatalhoyuk. As she is trying to sort out her life, she is also writing a controversial book about the Turkish-Armenian conflict, which brands her as an enemy of the Armenian people, and makes her the target of protest and abuse. Burhan - destiny has extracted from him a terrible personal price for his meteoric ascendancy in politics. Be that as it may, ever the undaunted Kemalist, he is fighting for the betterment of his people at all cost. Presently, he is an Advisor to the Turkish Military Junta as they prepare to re-launch democracy. Also, however, he is leading a dragnet against international terrorism sponsored by Anika Alkibiades’ dictatorial faction, which is still operating (and succeeding) by employing different special interest groups, from Militant Islam to Armenian and Kurdish, terrorists.

The Scorpion Child transmits a rich texture of flavors, images and suspense
Kristina O’Donnelly drew on her personal intercultural life to be able to write “The Scorpion Child”, a multi-level novel that screams to be transformed into a feature film. Already as a novel the book transmits a rich texture of flavors, images and suspense – spiked with eroticism and questions we all ask ourselves. The author painted with words, invoking a convincing story and unlike some books in the New Age category Kristina O’Donnelly treats themes such as reincarnation as well as the general cultural research with great depth and substance. This is a book for all those who dare to walk the bridges between cultures and time. Rashid Al-Taliq – writer & fusion artist - Marrakesh, Morocco

Kristina O'Donnelly has done it again! Transversing time, country boundaries, and cultures, her hypnotic prose pulls you into her characters' conflicts with a subtlety like no other author can. You'll become Adriadne, you'll experience Daniel's conflict, and you'll know Burhan's pain. With pen in hand, O'Donnelly paints you an image of suspense, romance, and mystery as deftly as anything Picasso could have pieced together. THE SCORPION CHILD is a must read, not just for those interested in reincarnation, but anyone who ever dreamed of visiting the fascinating, dangerous, and exciting country of Turkey!
