This is my 2nd published book. Originally written in 1991, before the horrible events of 9/11 2001, this story has chilling similarities with those events and tells of a ruthless Iraqi dictator who is deposed and escapes to Brazil to contemplate his future and that of the world. A sexual excursion with the wife of the Brazilian President besides, his driving force is a burning desire to return to power in his own country to launch a surprise attack on America. Despite its unfortunate, almost prophetic aspect, the story provides a highly amusing sequence of events with a surprising ending.

"It's THE BIG CRUNCH. And everybody knows it. This time the Colonel has gone too far - and even the patience of his own men has finally run dry. The tourists have long gone and what remains of a so-called economy is not worth saving. Food rations have been cut yet again and even the rats have taken on a decidedly worried look. But people are too tired and too angry to shudder when rodents and humans alike pop their heads up from under the rubble left behind in the streets from yesterday's riots. Indeed, compared with what is happening here, life in 'downtown' Ethiopia would seem like dignified High Tea.
So reported the colourful BBC correspondent Dave Fletcher to a shock-proof world"
