Original poems and photographs by the author.

The poems collected here reflect some of my experiences in the related areas of spirituality and mortality – hence the title, whose own double meaning is revealed by the poem that also bears it.  Their flavor varies with the changing times and tides and seasons of my life.  If I were to compose another, similar book, ten years from now, who knows what it would contain?  These are a taste of my life so far, and it is my pleasure to share them with you.

As you will see when you read this work, my own spiritual visions are inspired by no single, formal belief system, and no fixed point of faith.  They are informed only by my sense of connectedness to the earth and by my trust in the potential of human beings to go beyond themselves and to touch those around them with kindness.

This book is dedicated especially to the memory of my mother and my grandmother.

I would be content

Reader Reviews for "Inspiration and Expiration"

Reviewed by Richard Bowers 12/22/2012
It begins it. I have been here before, as I could tell.
For finding: that myself I have reborn
But not seen, is forever to persist
To gather around the seasons of space with the everlastingness of event
With the layered energy as it is made of things.
Into the logical fiber of the tribute: a thought arises
And stays on course, slowly progressing, not done.
By fear: the fear that’s been since forever,
In the same space the inseparable normal good
Being passed through mankind
Came accessible to me: I fade into remoteness
