In the future nobody dies. Nobody gets sick. Nobody grows old. Everybody does whatever they want and lives happily ever after.
One man believes there's more to life than this strange death-less existence. For how can there be happiness without sorrow? How can there be pleasure without pain? And how can there be life without death?
"And as his reflection vanished into the darkness, Ky's thoughts drifted away to another kind of reflection. His standby. His "other self."
Waiting, it was. Tucked away in some facility, deep frozen, it awaited its resurrection. He imagined the empty husk, residing amongst other innumerable empty husks, safe in their cocoons. A conscious-less creature born of his DNA, "grown" from his cells, identical to him in every way, only blank of personality. A clean slate. It was a body in stasis, kept alive artificially, possessing a brain that held no memories, no emotions... nothing at all.
It was a body waiting - waiting for Ky to take one wrong step off the mountain."
Endless is a story set in the distant future when because of advanced genetic technology there is no real death and man begins to think of himself as God...
...a time when the population is linked to and conditioned by Biocom--a master computer that controls the masses through false appeasements and its own form of reality.
Isaac's main character, Ky, takes us along on his compelling journey of "awakening."
A good summers read
'Endless' is a science fantasy with out all the usual SciFi drivel. The plot develops over Kytoneus Metheniopolis's conflict with the process of reconditioning that provides for him a comfortable and presumably everlasting life at the cost of selective memories. His quest to determine what experiences and personal relationship have been discarded leads him thru a maze of people and places forgotten in his past.
Science Fiction that validates
This science fiction novel truly validates the human soul. Readers quickly escape into a world where people of the 26th Century live beyond 500 years but in doing so have surrendered to the siren song of technology (the grand elixir). The main character, Kytoneus, stubbornly pursues his own humanity while resisting the lure of BIOCOM – the artificial intelligence entity that fulfills every want and need. Albert Isaac has created must read for the true fan of science fiction. Bill Perry, Author, Cold War Cyber Spy

Reader Reviews for "Endless"
|Reviewed by Leann Marshall
|Albert Isaac has written an intriguing and entertaining story set in the distant future--a time when computer and genetic technology allows everyone the luxury to live forever, anyone's death is just a minor interruption, and man has begun to look upon himself as God. A very thought-provoking read.|
