The stage is set as a fashionable, westernized, Malaysian, mother of two turns up at her local Mosque dressed in a Burqa complete with veil. She is unable to communicate except for Muslim prayers. Her frantic husband contacts her Singapore alumni group including Dr. Linda Belgrove who diagnoses Hadijah as having suffered Identity Fracture following the Iraq invasion. The result is a tongue-in-cheek look at Identity Issues as members of her alumni group take Khadijah on a voyage of rediscovery to healing sites in Malaysia, Singapore, Hawaii, Arizona, Sarawak and Sabah to restore her to normal.
"K.D. is that you?" Indira inquired desperately using Khadijah's westernized nickname. She stepped backwards as the figure in black suddenly emitted a scream followed by words spilling out of her mouth. Indira listened closely trying desperately to decipher the message that was emerging from behind the glasses and the veil of the Burqa. "Bombs, Iraq, Collateral Damage, George W. Bush, Jihad, Invasion, Hajj, Death, Ani, Lebanon, How Could Allah Allow This?" The figure suddenly became very agitated and leaped to its feet. Indira stepped back hastily. Dr. Linda rushed over, pulled up one of the Burqa sleeves and injected a vial of something into the figure's arm. The figure stopped yelling, trembled and then sank back onto the pink, leather chesterfield. Linda watched as the psychiatrist managed to get the black clothed figure onto its back and lying prone on the couch. "What's going on?" "Identity Achievement Fracture," Indira's mind reeled as Dr. Linda attempted to explain what was happening. "The worst case I have ever seen in my career."
