Dear Fellow Readers,
Mentoring is an ideal but a much underused means of achieving life goals. Mentoring enables us to intentionally set goals while having the benefit of someone else helping us to achieve them.
Most mentors care about the outcome of goals and they are highly interested in their mentees success. Mentors also provide positive suggestions and much encouragement to their mentees. This book will help your mentor/mentee relationship to grow through specific guidelines in which both parties can track their progress.
Personal accountability to someone else can help keep our lives in proper perspective. Our actions in life are influenced in the physical, mental and spiritual realms. A proper balance is vital for success and a healthy mentor/mentee relationship can help us to maintain this balance.
I am sure that you will find this book a great guide for effective mentoring!

Why We All Need a Mentor
It’s no big secret that having a mentor can make the difference between survival and struggle (Wong & Wong, 19, 302). Additionally a positive adjustment to a new environment can make all the difference in the world. People who have good reliable mentors usually adjust to pressure and perform much better in all aspects in life than who try to make it on their own.
Benefits of having a mentor:
1.Mentors can provide useful advice about time management, procrastination, stress management, goal setting, and other important life skills.
2.Mentors can help provide the courage for the mentee to try new things and offer sound guidance about the pitfalls of everyday life.
3.Some mentors can help tutor specific subjects or can help the mentee obtain a reliable tutor in a specified subject.
4.Mentors can instill confidence and help the mentee with lack of confidence in a particular subject or aspect of life.
5.Mentors can provide affirmation and guidance to insure mentee is on the right path towards success.
6.The mentee can have someone to call or e-mail to ask for answers to many questions that can arise during different seasons of life.
7.Mentors can help to instill motivation and confidence in mentees so they can achieve success in life.

Dr. Domino:
You have under-sold the claims on your "Mentoring To-Go" book. I just got my copy the other day and began almost immediately to dive into its many interesting pages.
It is more than you let on, in your Bio page.
Your book reminds of the spirit of a little book called,
"The Magic of Thinking Big," by David Schwartz.
It was a book that changed my life.
The Bible was the first of course!
In his book Schwartz related an anecdote about his young son when he asked him, "What do you want to be when you grow-up."
The little boy thought about it a minute and said, "A professor."
"A professor? What kind of professor, son?" his Dad asked.
After thinking for a minute the boy said with a smile, "A professor of happiness!"
A professor of Happiness. "How wonderful!" Schwartz goes on to relate.
Dr. Domino, Your book, "Mentoring To-Go," brought back memories of that enjoyable time of self-discovery, and youthful idealism, when I set sail for the seven seas of life. Anything was possible, and with your book, now it is again! |
