A GREAT CHRISTMASSY FEEL TO THIS BOOK. After gazing through a telescope, Hextoo,a pre-teen Martian boy, longs for Christmas of old. He suggests to his father that they take a trip to Azurum(Earth) to cut down an evergreen tree to bring back to Mars .After landing on Earth Hextoo and Martoo exit the spaceship and walk about a snow-covered field. They find a grove of specially grown evergreen trees. Nearby,in a bush path,a young orphan boy named Peter is watching the aliens.
Hextoo introduces himself to Peter and
convinces Peter to take a trip to Mars to experience a Martian Christmas.Makes a GREAT Christmas gift for kids 8 and up

an Excerpt..... page 13. Hextoo sighed. He was up again this night;Christmas Eve. Again he was looking through the perimega-scope. Staring sadly he brought the scope viewer closer to his eyes. After making a few adjustments he had it zoomed in to the blue planet Earth. They called it Azurum. Just then he heard his mother Nextoo say,"Hextoo, shut that off and go to bed. Tomorrow is Christmas day. Get some sleep. You and your cousins can look at the stars all day if you want to." "OK mom. Goodnight,"he said while shutting it down. ............

Reader Reviews for "A Martian's Dream of Christmas"

Reviewed by Frances Lynn 10/14/2006
This excerpt is sweet, original, and quirky. Makes me want to discover what the rest of the novella is about. It's interesting enough to make want to know what happens to the characters and the eventual outcome of the intriguing story.
