Did gargoyles start writing books?
Did gargoyles start writing books? JV Harlee might not be gargoyles but they have written a lush gothic horror novel called Gargoyle Tears. The gargoyles are in danger. Someone has discovered a way to kill the supposedly immortal helpers of humanity. However, the coming of "the chosen one" has been prophesied, a girl child who will confront their diabolical foes. Ethan is different. His family is different. Everything is going wrong just when everything is going right. Zombies visit him in his dreams, and gargoyles are his best friends. He's finally popular in school even though his love life is complicated. The voiceless dead and visions of murder are stalking Ethan. Ethan must find a way to help his gargoyle friends and protect them until this savior arrives. This gothic fantasy for teens tells about his struggles to make his way in a new school, stay alive, and to save the gargoyles. He finds the courage to face his enemies, and to confront the evil that endangers his friends and family.
He finished his math homework and headed downstairs for dinner. As he jumped down on the last step, he heard the basement door creak. He slowed his pace to get a glimpse of the gargoyle that decided to come up from the darkness and security of the basement. Opened a few inches, Ethan dropped as quietly as he could to the floor and crawled to the opening. Two yellowish green eyes peered out at him. They blinked and then disappeared. It was a gargoyle, one he hadn’t noticed before.
"Come here, I won't hurt you," Ethan said. He held his head up with the palms of his hands placed under his chin with his knees bent and under his middle.
Ethan sighed. Just then, the yellowish eyes returned. Ethan smiled and tilted his head sideways.
"Curious, are you?"
The door creaked again and a small, thin, hand with curvy spiked nails wrapped around the edge of the door. The slimy, scaled skin made Ethan smile. He inched closer and caught a glimpse of the small gargoyle’s round head. Its large eyes twinkled before it disappeared back into the dark basement.
