Seniors Rule with Gentle Attitude
by Evelyn Horan
Seniors rule with gentle attitude
Because we give much latitude,
To life’s many ups and downs
We have answers—“we’ve been around.”
So share with me a few of your special memories
Let’s review our good and bad times carefully,
------------ Remembering: “ seniors rule with gentle attitude”
Because we’ve learned to give life latitude!
LAUGHTER KEEPS US YOUNG AT HEART
It’s important to laugh at ourselves, and at the same time, know that others are laughing with us.
Being a senior has its own special attributes and features. Have you noticed these changes:
the hair on our legs has almost stopped growing but we have a new mustache sprouting on our upper lip?
our upper arms have excess flab and we avoid wearing tank-tops?
unfortunately, when we stand nude in front of a mirror, we can see our back end without even having to turn around?
at mammogram time, we hope no one else will ever see our upper torso revealed?
when our memory fades? We can remember our yesterdays but what happened an hour ago is sometimes a mystery – especially when you have a question as to whether or not you already took your cholesterol pill? Should you take another?
But, all in all, it’s great that our loved ones overlook our aging. We can cheerfully think of our many long years of failures and successes that have allowed us to now become “ the wise and all-knowing advice givers” to all the young folks in our lives!

Clever Thoughts That Are Light and Nostalgic With Many Chuckles
With her usual skill, Evelyn Horan has combined some of her writing with clever thoughts, to compile a book that is light, nostalgic, and on target for those of us who have lived long enough to remember special events. Some inclusions are in the form of poetry, prose, quizzes and “senior moments of chuckles and fun”. With short chapters, this is the book to read for five minutes or two hours. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn, remember, and laugh.
