"Maybe we should take our things to the room then eat. What time is supper?"
"In about an 'our Ma'am. I'll be puttin' the vittles on the table then. Other folks will be a joinin' you too."
"Thank you very much, I'll be right back." Greta heads out of the Tavern to inform the others.
"Well, Mrs. Wibert, what do ya think of that lady? With eight more females' mmm...mmm...mmm. See if you can find out whar their head'n. Mr. Wibert watches as Greta went to get the girls.
"You think they be carin' a mess a money?"......
...Mr. Wibert was still standing at the door watching. When he saw them coming he smiled and pointed to the stairs saying, "Come on in an' take to the stairs that a way. MY, MY, wat perty gals you all got thar Mrs...um...wat be yer name agin Ma'am?"
"Mrs. Yancey and this is Mrs. Cooper...and these are my seven daughters. Now hurry girls up the stairs and to the right, the first two large rooms are ours."
"Yes...um...Mrs. Yancey...how do Mrs. Cooper...taint got no men folk with ya?" He looks out the door to see if any more are coming. "You all travelin' alone?"...

This is exciting for me to be writing an on going series; but what is more exciting is the fact that my sister Rose Marie Scherer illustrated the cover of this second book. She spent many hours working on it to capture the essence of the book in picture form. That to me is more difficult than writing the story...to compact a whole story in one picture...she did it and I'm proud to have her name with my name.
I can't wait to see what what she does on the third book.
