"One woman, one marathon struggle. Fear, one simple word. She imagined each step would be her last – and then a hand fell on her shoulder. She was an innocent girl, attacked by Russian soldiers, living in fear of the dangers that lay ahead but, finally, she was free and making it on her own."
Germany from Chapter One
I woke up in the middle of the night as I heard my mother screaming, ‘Come back to us! Don’t leave us alone.’
I got up quickly and went to her room, “Mom, what is it?”
“Elsie, I had the most frightening dream about your father running away from us, with something like a big cable or wire in his hands, and there was gunfire and explosions behind him. When is this war going to end?”
Excerpt

| I have not read your book, but it seems that your biography resembles those of many who survived hardship. Life teaches us to discover who we are, and to find the meaning of it. Everyone is unique. Congratulations for your new book and keep writing! |

Your book sounds very interesting, and your background certainly has been variable, very difficult for a person to undergo those changes.
I have met other persons with German background who have undergone hard things, and who have emigrated from there, so I am intrigued by your book....Jerry |
