Excerpt from poem "Mommy"

I’ll make her proud and smile that smile,
Giving her no cause to fear.
As long as I’m breathing, I know she’ll be whispering,
In my waiting ears.

“Remember what I taught you,
Be proud of who you are, never give up or give in,
Show the doubters just what you’re made of,
And move through your life with a grin.”

She was my mommy when I was young,
Always there holding me,
Believing in me, loving me,
Giving me things I couldn’t see.

I love you mom.
