In the tradition of his best selling book, "How to Really Love the One You're With," Larry James present self-liberating insights, easy to read, brief inspirational essays and though-provoking ideas about love and romance.

Excerpt

A kiss has been described as the height of voluptuousness. It has a lovely, luscious and lusty legacy. Kissing is an act of quiet intimacy and often borders on the erotic. It can be brief and cool or lengthy and hot. It can be highly romantic, building to a succulent crescendo of emotion and passion or passed off as something that is expected and therefore no big deal. Two pairs of lips are for kissing. It is an essential element for communicating love and affection in your relationship. A kiss speaks many different meanings to its lover; when it is missing, many interpretations as to the reasons for its absence surface. These interpretations can become invisible wedges that prevent love from expressing. When love is present, kissing is an important part of expressing that love. Pay attention to it. Kissing does not always have to be a prelude to making love.

. . . The energy we give to our troubles by dwelling on them, saps us of the energy we need to find solutions for them. They seem to linger longer the more we pay attention to them. Troubles feed on the energy we give them. Troubles deny us the opportunity that lies just past them. Troubles are to make us. . . not break us. Never ask why troubles come. Be grateful there are solutions. We need to redirect our energy. This deflates the ego of troubles. Focus on the promise of a better tomorrow by acknowledging our troubles, then immediately get busy working on the discovery of workable solutions. If we are to choose to make things work, we need to listen for answers. We cannot do this when we are immersed in the turmoil of confusion. It takes much energy to remain confused. A determination to resolve conflict by conversation offers a chance for healing and promotes the opportunity to become closer to the one you love. Cherish your differences. They are there for a purpose. Learn from them by learning to freely discuss them. Withhold your disapproval. Listen with acceptance and understanding. Conversation occurs when someone is speaking and someone is listening. Being an attentive listener often offers an opportunity for healing and suggests a deeper level of love than simply saying, "I love you."
